Recently some of the photos submitted by applicants for visas to China have not met the qualifications laid out by the Chinese Consulate. These photos have been: the incorrect size, too big or too small; taken a long time ago, not within six months of the application; dark color, too dim, not clear; not taken in front of a white or light blue background; printed on regular printing paper, not on photograph paper; cut from existing scenic or family pictures. The submission of unqualified photos, such as those mentioned above delays consular officials in their decision making process and issuing visas. Due to the high number of unqualified photos recently received we are now reaffirming the rules for photos attached to Chinese Visa Application forms. Please provide qualified photos in order to facilitate your visa application.
